Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor and a TV presenter. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef along with being the host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and an exuberant presence, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals simple, easy-to-master recipes to the home cook in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell had a job at the top New York restaurants and studied Italian food traditions and landscape. In addition, she appeared in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking at the age of a child. She furthered her interest in working in the restaurant business by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute during my time at The Culinary Institute of America she says. I could not learn and do enough. Chef Burrell following her graduation from the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy completed a one-year stint in Umbria in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy she came to appreciate and understand the concepts of Italian cuisine and culture which has had a profound impact from a culinary perspective. Burrell was part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of kids facing obstacles. Also, she's an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador which promotes education about the condition known as juvenile diabetes. As a speaker, Burrell makes trips across the country to promote her love for food and her culinary career. Anne declared that she felt fortunate that I could share her true passion with others.

Born in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Amy Carlson spent most of her childhood in the Chicago region. Amy resided in Glen Ellyn the city of Illinois, up until she entered junior college. The family also resided in the Middle East, where her parents, Bob (and Barb) taught at the American School. Amy is the older sister of Betsy, Lori, and brother Joe.
