Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) and was the national director of Mary Kay and Freddie Wright who
was a pharmacist executive. She was born in San Diego. She began her career as
a model in the year 1980 aged 14 and worked both in Paris and Japan. When she
finished high school, she made the decision to become an actress. She was cast
in the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), where she was nominated three more
times for Daytime Emmys. She was in love with Dane Witherspoon during the first
season. They were married in 1986. In 1987, she appeared in the title role in
The Princess Bride. After leaving the cast in Santa Barbara, she got the role
of the main character in Denial (1990) together with Jason Patric. It was
during State of Grace (1990) in the year she met Sean Penn. They had daughters
Dylan Frances and a son Hopper Jack. After taking some time off, Robin was back
to Hollywood with one of the most memorable roles of her career: She was Tara
in The Playboys (1992). She was absolutely stunning and amazing. She was next
seen in Toys (1992), with Robin Williams. She gave a hilarious performance.
Wright played the role of Jenny in 1994's blockbuster smash Forrest Gump (1994)
with Tom Hanks. Wright received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award in
recognition of her performance in the film as Jenny. She was offered a tiny
role in The Crossing Guard (1995), with Jack Nicholson. After being rejected
for 14 roles, she was offered the title part in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996).
The film was directed by Pen Densham and featured Morgan Freeman, Stockard
Channing, and Morgan Freeman. Then, she appeared alongside William Hurt in Erin
Dignam’s Loved (1997).
